Meeting: Forge Meaning, Build Identity: How our worst moments make us who we are

  • First United Methodist Church 305 East Anapamu Street Santa Barbara, CA, 93101 United States (map)

We will watch this moving, heartfelt and at times downright funny talk, as Andrew Solomon gives a powerful call to action to forge meaning from our biggest struggles. Andrew Solomon has spent his career telling stories of the hardships of others. Now he turns inward, bringing us into a childhood of adversity, while also spinning tales of the courageous people he's met in the years since.

After this 20 minute talk we will have time to find meaning and support in our own stories.

Andrew Solomon is a writer on politics, culture and psychology who has written for The New York Times, and The New Yorker. His book The Noonday Demon: An Atlas of Depression won the hundred best books of the decade.

Our monthly meetings are at the heart of what we do. We meet each month on the Second Monday at 7 pm.  First Methodist Church, 305 E Anapamu St., Santa Barbara, CA

All are welcome, and we encourage new comers to join us.
